Music to watch out for: Yelle & Chester French2009 has so far been thrilling, chilling, and fullfilling...and it's only half over. This summer is set, bands are coming back with new albums, which is great for music enthusiasts, but there are a few things that might be overlooked. In all of this hell fire glory, and enthusiastic joy there are two new acts that might be making your list of new favorites this summer.
First, being the spunky 26-year-old singer Julie budet, more infamously known as 'Yelle'. Though she sings in French, her style is a bit of Twiggy meets 80's, and her dance moves are a bit foreign, Yelle is one of the most enjoyable sounds you'll pleasure your ears with. Her beats are up-beat and her slightly tech-pop sound is sure to get you moving on the dancefloor, and makes a perfect track for any party. Aside from her authentic sound, 'Yelle' also has quite the perspective on things. Her single 'je voir te voir', originally titled 'short dick cuizi' is mocking a member of the Persian hip-hop band TTC, Cuizinier. If her sound isn't enough to draw you to give her a listen, then maybe a few of her accomplishments will. Yelle has worked with many popular artists such as Katy Perry, has been added to the music lists of Gap and H&M(as well as being part of H&M's 'Fight Against Aids' clothing campaign.), and is also the rep of the Paris model of Reebok Freestyles, Worldcities. If you're into something new, something with a sound of it's own, then I highly suggest you give her a listen before your friends can't stop talking about her.

And second, the adorably history inclined Chester French, named after 'Daniel Chester French' who build the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. After the duo, made up of Maxwell Drummey and D.A. Wallach(orignally with others who later left), met in Harvard University, they followed their dreams to become musicians. After winning battle of the bands, they dropped their first EP, "Chester French's first love", but moved along to compose demos with Ryan Leslie that would be supported by the likes of Kanye West and Perez Hilton. With their strange mix of synth, R&B, surfer rock, guitar and pop, Chester French is one of the most Urban sounding bands to date. Of coarse, if you've heard "She Loves Everybody" and "Jimmy Choos" you'd probably be quite surprised they're by the same band. Never-the-less, they are more then worthy to grace your ears.
